MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Trim, inspect and pack containers or parts on the line.
2. Taking the 95-gallon trash cans in the production floor to the compactor to be emptied and bringing them back to the production floor once they have been emptied.
3. Inspects and packs bottles on assigned lines, repack area or during rework activities.
4. Monitor production for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/or supervisor of any issues.
5. Correctly apply tickets to finished packages.
6. Read and understand the job discrete pick list. Ensure compliance on assigned line.
7. Fill in required data on exception reports and any pack/inspection sheets as required.
8. Start, stop, reset and clear jams on auxiliary equipment such as bottle conveyors, sleeve labeler, box maker, labeler, flame treater, leak tester, etc.
9. Complete assigned housekeeping duties in areas of responsibility.
10. Complete employee safety observation forms and report hazards as necessary.
11. Participate in monthly safety and/or quality meetings.
12. Adhere to Silgan safety policies.
13. Empty reject bins and grind scrap as necessary.
14. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
