The Manager, US Payroll Operations oversees the day-to-day management of payroll operations including ownership of core payroll processes and procedures, management of the payroll operations processing team, delivering and monitoring service level commitments, and appropriate delegation of day-to-day work requests. This position manages the payroll team including: developing training; mentoring; and providing informal and formal verbal and written feedback.

Key Accountabilities

• Supervises the daily operations for the US Payroll Operations and Employee Services team, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; leads compliance with federal, state, and local policies and procedures.

• Trains and develops the Payroll Operations team, coordinating workload to assure priorities are established and executed.

• Lead and maintain strong controls in preparation, review, and distribution of company's payroll.

• Responsible for preparing, maintaining procedures and documentation for Payroll Operations.

• Responsible for the end-to-end Payroll process, including preparation, processing, post- Payroll, in coordination with the outsourced payroll solution provider.

• Ensure SOX compliance and control requirements are met, supporting internal and external auditor requests.

• Work with third party vendors who provide information for Payroll processing.

• Ownership of daily payroll issues tracker / ticketing system, including support for HR leaders in resolving payroll issues, irregular payments, and employee or vendor inquiries.

• Responsible for ensuring payroll performance metrics and SLAs are achieved

• Provide excellent customer service and support to employees, HR team, business functions and external customers, providing timely and complete response and follow-up to questions and information requests.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Systems or other related field preferred.

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.

• 5+ years of direct payroll management experience (7,000+ employees), preferred

• Proven experience in multi-state/local tax, G/L, and SOX Audit/Compliance

• 3+ years Hands-PeopleSoft 8.9 Payroll, including reporting, auditing and processing, preferred.

• Time & Attendance: Kronos Workforce Central, (build pay rules, codes, Hours Table, etc.)

• Familiarity with SAP/SuccessFactors HR (Employee Central) & SAP Finance applications (preferred).

• Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

• Zendesk and/or other ticket management experience preferred

Education

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business

• 5 years experience in US multi-state payroll and tax processing required

• 3+ PeopleSoft 8.9 Experience required

• SAP On Premise/SAP EC Payroll (ECP), preferred

• SAP Payroll Certification preferred

• SAP SuccessFactors knowledge a plus

• BSI SAAS and EFORMS Factory

• Communicate clearly: both verbal and written with a professional demeanor
