Life at Amplify

As a growing, tech-focused credit union, Amplify Credit Union delivers value to our members through our products and impact to our community through our profits. That unique intersection is one reason we've been named a Top Workplace for three years in a row by the Austin American-Statesman four years in a row. We're also proud to say that we're the only full-service financial institution that doesn't have deposit fees of any kind. We're looking for teammates who are inspired by our mission and ready to grow their careers. As they do, our employees can expect Amplify to uphold our commitments to culture, community, inclusion, and more.

Our business success is built on the community around us, now more than ever. Therefore, we believe it is our responsibility to give back to those who support our growth. Through volunteerism, we can strengthen the communities around us and strengthen our business as well. That's why we're proud to offer up to 40 hours per year of paid time off to perform community service during work hours.

About This Role:

Even in the era of digital-first banking, there is still no substitute for a human connection. Not everyone wants a financial tool - some people are still looking for a financial partner. As a Personal Banker, you will take a deep dive into the world of banking and financial services. You will offer our customers an opportunity to learn more about the products and services Amplify offers to help them reach their financial goals with a focus on service, not sales.

Job Description:

  • Consistently demonstrate a service-first approach by identifying customer needs and offering solutions that benefit the customer.
  • Actively support branch operations by assisting customers with deposits, withdrawals, and transfers; participating in branch balancing to ensure actual funds on hand match what is shown in our systems; and assisting with branch auditing to ensure processes are followed.
  • Establish new memberships and open all types of accounts offered by Amplify.
  • Perform account maintenance, respond to customer inquiries, and originate consumer loan applications.

We believe these underlying skills are the most essential part of the job:
  • Professionalism. You remain cool, calm, and collected, even in the most stressful situations. Having a clear line of thinking allows us to make the best decisions for our customers.
  • Integrity. You have an innate capacity to do the right thing, even when no one is looking.
  • Curiosity. You recognize that every conversation is an opportunity to learn more about our customers so we can serve them better and find new ways to improve their banking experience.
  • Empathy. Talking about money can be an uncomfortable feeling for many people. You will help our customers have productive conversations about their financial goals-and the steps they can take to achieve them.
  • Foresight. From savings accounts to jumbo mortgages, we have a product to fit every financial goal. Knowing where to start the conversation is often the most important thing.
  • Dedication. Trust, once given, must be maintained. We follow through on our commitments to our customers and keep ourselves ready for their next big challenge (whatever it may be).

Required Qualifications:
  • Service First: Must have a natural desire to help others and build lasting relationships with customers and teammates alike.
  • Quality Driven: Must always be conscious of the responsibility we have to our customers when it comes to suggesting products or services that could help them, handling fraud concerns, and helping them with their finances.
  • Must be available to work Saturdays, depending on the needs of the business.
  • Must have a willingness to discuss financial matters with customers.
  • Willing to work at any Amplify branch location in Austin, Round Rock, or Cedar Park (Esperanza, Pond Springs, La Frontera, and Cedar Park).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of successful financial institution or sales-related experience.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union's products & services, policies, standard operating procedures, and State and Federal regulations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
