Up to a $5k Sign on Bonus

The Department of Pharmacy has an exciting opportunity for a per diem Pharmacy Technician to work in UHealth Hollywood. The Pharmacy Technician compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist. Moreover, an employee in this position performs clerical duties relating to the department, receives and stores incoming supplies. The Pharmacy Technician also verifies stock and enters data into the computer to maintain accurate and complete inventory records.

  • Weighs, counts, measures, and mixes medication.
  • Handles inventory to ensure that the pharmacy is appropriately stocked.
  • Receives written prescription, fills prescriptions or refill requests, and verifies that information is complete and accurate.
  • Fills bottles with prescribed medications, and types and affixes labels.
  • Assists customers by answering simple questions, locating items, and referring them to the appropriate staff.
  • Transfers medication from vials to the appropriate number of sterile and disposable syringes using aseptic techniques.
  • Supplies and monitors robotic machines that dispense medicine into containers.
  • Prepares and processes medical insurance claim forms and handles insurance claim records.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
  • Certifications in relevant specialty or field

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Commitment to the University's core values.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
