Must be IV certified. Long-term care, Framework, and Docutrack experience preferred.

Job Summary:

The overall purpose of the Pharmacy Technician position is to assist with the preparation of medications for dispensing under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Current state registration as a pharmacy technician in good standing
  • Pharmacy technician certification required
  • ACPE IV Certification required
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
  • Knowledge of basic drug terminology/abbreviations/symbols, pharmaceutical calculations
  • Understanding of systems of measurement, drug use, interpreting directions for use, and aseptic techniques
  • Attention to detail with accurate and timely completion of tasks
  • Intermediate level of computer knowledge skills/proficiency and able to
  • adapt to new/evolving technologies
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and productively
  • Interpersonal skills required to deal effectively and courteously with all co-workers, medical/nursing/professional personnel and patients/caregivers
  • Willingness to be a team player and promote a positive team environment
Essential Functions:
  • Enterers prescription/physician order data into the pharmacy's data processing system(s)
  • Pulls stock bottle from the shelf for preparing and packaging prescription drug orders
  • Affix prescription labels and auxiliary labels to the prescription container
  • Reconstitute medications as required
  • Package and label prepackaged drugs
  • Assemble and audit emergency kits
  • Compound and bulk compound of non-sterile and/or sterile prescription drug orders.
  • Procure and stock pharmaceuticals and ancillary supplies as assigned
  • Assist in inventory management and inventory counts
  • Be available for the maintenance of pharmacy equipment, environmental controls, pharmacy cleanliness and organization including filing as needed
  • Participates in the coordination, scheduling and preparation of medication deliveries
