Area of Accountability:

Manage inventory of raw materials and monitor the production schedules for the facility to achieve internal and external customer requirements. Participate in continuous improvement activities within a team environment. Manage supplier relationships in a manner consistent with supporting the development and implementation of supply chain programs.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing/analyzing MRP daily and adjusting delivery schedules to support the production requirements.
  • Managing and analyzing daily scheduling functions.
  • Managing inventory levels of purchased components to achieve plant goals.
  • Communicates clearly, concisely, and completely too all functional areas of the plant.
  • Monitor plant ECN's and minimize plant excess and obsolescence.
  • Manage the utilization of Kanban, JIT, lot sizing and point of storage techniques in support of Plant goals.

Qualifications: Include education, experience, and skills required or preferred. Example:
  • BS Degree in Business or related degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • APICS certification or pursuing certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MRPII required. Knowledge of KANBAN, ISO/TS16949 and JIT concepts and techniques preferred.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal/written) with strong math and organizational skills are required.
  • Knowledge of formal manufacturing resource planning systems required.
  • Microsoft Office and Showcase Strategy a plus.
  • Combined experience in purchasing and general warehousing preferred.
  • Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in dealing with vendors required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Provide information or opinions which are generated during the course of work.
  • Excellent organization skills required.
  • Ability to execute long range planning.
  • Ability to exercise foresight relative to inventory control.
