Position Purpose:

Area of focus will be centered around the Somerset Manufacturing Plant. This will entail month-end financial closing, cost analysis, fixed asset accountability, plant capital investments, and plant team support.

Essential Functions:

  • Split time supporting the Somerset Plant, Division Controller and Finance Manager
  • Perform month-end financial close for the Somerset Plant. Record manufacturing expenses, depreciation, taxes, and other overhead expenses
  • Provide manufacturing cost and variance analysis for the Somerset Plant
  • Understand monthly financial results and key operating metrics, communicating these results to the Plant Management Staff
  • Produce daily, weekly, monthly reports for the Plant Manager
  • Participate as a member of the Plant Managers staff by involvement in regular staff meetings and monthly management review meetings
  • Ensure adequate internal controls exist and are utilized at the plant.
  • Identify areas of weakness and assists local management in implementing corrective action
  • Assist local management in identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities
  • Support divisional requirements such as internal/external audits
  • Provide financial support for capital development projects from approval to installation
  • Work with Finance Manager to maintain standard costs, routers and department burden rates
  • Assist in developing monthly forecasts and annual operating plan
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Maintain Fixed Asset System for the Somerset Plant
  • Assist in tracking product margins, cost reductions and new product programs
  • Analyze inventory variances/transactions, plus inventory control cycle count program

    Education and Training:
    • BS/BA Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
    Physical Demands:
    • Frequent sitting, work at computer for extended periods of time.
    Environmental Conditions:
    • Office setting.
    • Minimal exposure to R&D lab and manufacturing setting.
    Behavioral Traits:
    • Highly organized
    • Efficient in record-keeping
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
