Purpose:
Accounting support for Plant Controller in the preparation of all financial/accounting, operational, and internal control information to support meeting and/or exceeding established plant and functional area goals. Is considered promotable to a controller's position.



Essential Functions:
1. Complete controller tasks, including month end closing requirements, in the absence of a controller or when assigned
2. Provide accurate information for departmental measurement systems that enable plant management team to track and measure performance.
3. Provide timely and accurate analysis on actual plant performance, responsibility statements, and company scorecards.
4. Track expenses for accuracy and evaluation.
5. Review and verify invoices to ensure accuracy, cost center assignment, and timely forwarding to corporate AP for processing.
6. Develop and conduct audits consistent with control responsibilities to identify plant control issues and monitor compliance.
7. Support centralized hourly payroll function as assigned to issue timely and accurate payrolls.
8. Participate in the month-end closing process to ensure accurate and timely financial reports.
9. Set standard costs in cooperation with corporate cost accounting and the develop budgets, as assigned.
10. Possess the skills to analyze and explain material flow, MUV, scrap, and other operational issues as they relate to financial results.
11. Actively participate on assigned teams and/or projects.
12. Support and represent company as a union-free environment, or where a union already exists support a good working relationship with the union, honoring budget commitments and minimizing the effects of restrictive practices.
13. Provide a safe and productive work environment, including housekeeping.
14. Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
15. Manage assigned accounting clerical staff to achieve departmental goals.

17. Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages one or two non-exempt clerical employees in the financial area, including the direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
