Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • Medicare & Retirement Claims Platform

Team and Team size:

  • Part of larger Architecture team but individual contributor to the product architecture for Government Programs (Medicare and Medicaid)
  • Name: Government Programs Technology Architecture team (45+ Architects)
  • Sub-team Name: Administer Plan (Claims & Finance) Product Architecture team (~15 Architects)

Primary responsibilities:

  • Evangelize our technology strategy and decisions
  • Use a consultative approach to solving problems
  • Collaborate with the business to understand / influence business requirements to use technology as a way to improve member experience and separate us from our competitors
  • Demonstrate understanding of cross - functional / cross - domain requirements and impact
  • Stay abreast of current and emerging technologies / products / trends related to architectural solutions. Utilize those findings to influence our technology strategy
  • Facilitate / lead / participate in identification of solution options and features and prepare related estimates for business cases
  • Create architecture deliverables that describe the solution that other teams can learn from
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise technology standards (e.g. solution patterns, application frameworks, technology roadmaps, capital plans)
  • Identify gaps between established standards and proposed solutions, and follow the exception / waiver process as needed as part of the architecture governance model

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT Solution Delivery
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in delivering multi-tier web based applications
  • 3+ years of experience in a role that made decisions across an enterprise, and not just one or two business units
  • Experience with technology project estimation techniques and familiarity with financial terminology
  • Experience operationalizing web based systems that meet service levels, protect and secure our members data and privacy, and are easy to use
  • Experience presenting solution vision/direction in front of a large audience, and motivate that audience to deliver on a shared vision
  • Proven experience initiating, facilitating, and embracing change and transformation
  • Deep understanding of industry patterns for application architecture and integration
    • Knowledge in legacy modernization techniques related tools, process and patterns
  • Experience with modernizing applications using Microservices, Streaming and APIs using opensource technologies
  • Experience leading architecture using modern software engineering and product development tools including Agile, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, DevOps, etc.
  • Experience with multiple enterprise deployment options following Public and Private cloud paradigm
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments
  • Ability to establish repeatable processes, best practices and implement version control software in a team environment
  • Experience managing relationships, coalitions and communications with senior and executive level business and technology leaders to influence desired outcomes without direct authority

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with COTS vendors like Facets & Healthedge
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Knowledge of the Healthcare Claims, Provider and Finance domains
  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems or STEM related field
  • Experience using HL7/FHIR, Healthcare EDI formats
  • Experience with Agile Product development process; SAFE Agile certified
  • Successfully able to handle multiple large-scale technology initiatives concurrently
  • Excellent analytical and collaboration skills and techniques to create innovative market leading solutions
  • Excellent time management, communication, decision making and presentation skills
  • Global team experience

  • c. How technical will the interviews be? Interviews are a mix of technical and behavioral questions
