Location: REMOTE
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer.

This is a Fully Remote position.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Lead the BizOps Application team and assist where necessary at a technical level.
• Support a highly available, highly secure production environment
• Set standards and define detailed processes for effectively managing a production environment with minimal downtime
• Perform daily monitoring and maintenance of all software infrastructure components
• Be proactive and predictive, solve problems before they happen
• Embrace DevOps practices & methodologies
• Plan application deployments, migrations and upgrades to minimize service impacts
  

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Advanced software experience (Linux/Unix, Java applications, automation, configuration management, scripting and software development)
• Advanced experience supporting highly available and fault tolerant systems (Databases, containers, proxies)
• Advanced Virtualization experience (VMware, Openstack)
• Intermediate Cloud technologies experience (Azure, AWS or equivalent)
• Intermediate Networking experience (Ex. TCP/IP, UDP, Routing, Firewalls, load-balancers)
• Security knowledge & experience (Ex. Encryption/Hardening/Certificates/PKI/SSH/VPN) Desire to document everything.
• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services-from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.
• Design, implement, and enhance our deployment automation.
• Use Jenkins to orchestrate application release & integration with tools Sonar, Maven etc. to build out the CI/CD pipeline.
• Support deployments of code into multiple lower environments. Supporting current processes needed with an emphasis on automating everything as soon as possible.
• Design and implement a Git based code management strategy that will support multiple environment deployments in parallel. Experience with automation for branch management, code promotions, and version management is a plus.
