Are you our next Process Control Specialist?

The Process Control Specialist is responsible for providing programming, support and technical assistance in automation hardware and software. The role will include working collaboratively with electrical and instrumentation crews to monitor and manage the automation software and systems. Troubleshoot on-site DCS and PLCs, including NovaTech D/3, Yokogawa, and various Rockwell PLCs. Configure programming modifications to site control systems for routine maintenance, small expense projects and participate in capital project teams as automation representative. Tune control loops to improve plant efficiency and instrument reliability. Assist site engineers to update P&IDs, instrument, and electrical drawings for automation changes. Stay current in latest technologies in automation hardware and software, process controls, process simulation and networking. Tasks may also include alarm and control systems communication monitoring as well as various field instrumentation and transmitters including networking hardware and software. Perform miscellaneous duties are assigned.

What will you do?

  • Provide technical leadership in developing Automation standards, software and hardware infrastructure and system optimization for plant process control systems and control schemes
  • Support plant automation projects including training, troubleshooting, and tuning of manufacturing plant process controls systems
  • Develop and maintain automation documents
  • Stay current in latest technologies in automation hardware and software, process controls, process simulation and networking
  • Perform miscellaneous duties are assigned

What do you need for this role?
  • High School Diploma or GED and 5+ years related experience required
  • Prefer a Vocational/Associate's Degree with 3+ years
  • Prior experience with process automation and planning would be an asset.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, conduit/cable layout drawings, and manuals for instrumentation and electrical equipment.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision on time sensitive projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people and to coordinate activities with other departments
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS systems is preferred
  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors and exposed to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
