Our West Chester Supply Site is a very dynamic and growing manufacturing site within the AstraZeneca Global Operations network and is located just north of Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to serving as the global COVID vaccine production site for AstraZeneca, the West Chester site encompasses Bulk API Microsphere manufacturing, Aseptic Pharmaceutical Formulation, multi-line Isolator/Barrier Vial and Syringe Filling, and specialty Packaging Operations for Vials and Auto-Injectors that supports growing franchises in Diabetes, Respiratory, and Vaccines. Our site is one of 30 production facilities in 18 countries with over 700 people collaborating to connect powerful medications to patients in more than 60 countries around the world. Night Shift role

The Warehouse Process Facilitator is responsible for independent decision making for the operation of the warehouse and serves as the owner of the warehouse processes related to receiving, shipping, storage, handling, disposing and supply of all materials for production. In this capacity, the Warehouse Process Facilitator manages the warehouse and materials handling operations on site to ensure no disruptions to the production processes. This individual has primary responsibility for the personnel, facilities and equipment within the operating area. This will include effective collaboration with Process Facilitators within the site and on other shifts to optimize quality and performance of the operation. As a responsible leader, they must maintain effective employee relations and compliance to cGMP, other regulatory, and SOX requirements, as well as SHE obligations and AstraZeneca standards.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare documentation of activities, actions, and/or results and complete required training.
  • Ensure proper documentation practices during job activities.
  • Perform visual inspections.
  • Communicate policies and procedures to employees.
  • Gather, organize, and communicate operational information to others.
  • Use SAP to track inventory and materials.
  • Communicate priorities and progress to team on a continuing basis.
  • Facilitate communication between management and non-management and facilitate team meetings to discuss progress, initiatives, and/or other matters.
  • Guide others on SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), control documents, and/or other work instructions.
  • Manage schedules, attendance, vacation time, and staffing coverage for the team.
  • Supervise day to day activities of others and monitor key performance indicators to meet strategic goals.
  • Monitor training of employees to ensure compliance.
  • Attend inter-departmental meetings to discuss matters involving the coordination of multiple departments.
  • Manage the performance of others, including performance/merit reviews, professional development, and disciplinary action.
  • Collect, record, and report metrics and perform data entry.
  • Read, understand, and comply with cGMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), including general safety, lock outs, etc.
  • Wear gowning, sterile garments, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required by specific activities.
  • Assign work tasks and activities to others.
  • Conduct safety checks for work group, department, or site.
  • Coordinate events and meetings (for example: meeting space, food, attendees, audio visual).
  • Manage team's priorities, goals, and resource allocation.
  • On Call support when required.


Other Functions:
  • Read SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and excerpts from technical documentation.
  • Verify count, measure and check materials to ensure proper components, quantities, and/or characteristics.
  • Answer compliance and process questions from others.
  • Establish visual tracking and other tools to enhance Audit readiness and trend analysis.
  • Fill in for immediate supervisor when absent.
  • Lead process improvement activities and teams to meet strategic goals.
  • Investigate deviations.
  • Lead training on all document modifications prior to effective date.
  • Provide leadership, development, and mentoring for others.
  • Coordinate activities of support groups.
  • Analyze trends in data in order to provide accurate descriptions, identify root causes, and/or identify solutions or improvements.
  • Close out deviations, CAPAs, and/or pAFCAs as needed.
  • Develop lean processes and procedures.
  • Identify temporary and permanent fixes to address issues.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science required in Engineering, Pharmacy, related Science or business.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Problem solving skills


Preferred Background:
  • Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of LDMS or AZDocs, Microsoft applications, SAP, Trackwise
  • Training or experience in formulation, filling, packaging, validation, technology transfer, change control.
  • Knowledge or previous experience in managing technical programs/projects
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to direct and participate in cross-functional team.
  • Project management skills.
  • APICS Certification
