JOB SUMMARY:

Understand process control and the polymerization systems.

Monitor all process control systems in the field.

Perform process control work to include all Field Operations and some Control Room Operations.

Troubleshoot process problems to reduce downtime.

Maintain department Safety, Environmental, and Housekeeping to Beaulieu Standards

Reports and performs IFR's.

Knows and understands Stop and Think principles and Plant Safety.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:

Shift activities.

Work 12 hour rotating shifts to include weekends and holidays.

Overtime may be required.

Process control : Handle chemicals.

Start / stop pelletizing units.

Unplug process lines.

Troubleshoot process problems.

Start / stop process equipment as needed.

Operate a fork lift.

Train in and perform confined space task.

Train in and perform Haz- Mat task as necessary.

Take process samples.

Take process readings.

Unload raw material trucks.

Load finished product trucks.

Box / bag chips as needed.

Start / stop pelletizers.

Switch pumps as needed.

Operate the de-mineralized water system.

Clean filters and strainers.

Isolate and LOTO equipment when needed.

Fill vessels as needed with process medium.

Relieve the Lead Process Control Technician for short periods of time.

Use Microsoft Excel and Word.

Operate the AS400 system to enter production data and make tickets.

Maintain all assigned areas for Safety, Environment, and Housekeeping.

Supervision Received:

Works under the direction of the Lead Process Control Technician.

Authority and Accountabilities:

Is authorized to report all process condition deemed to be unsafe or needing maintenance.

Is authorized to call in relief for absent team members and during shutdowns and startups.

Is accountable for shift safety, environmental, housekeeping, process control, and quality.

Work Environment:

Nine floors with steps and ladders to climb.

Heat on some floors to reach about 10-20 degrees higher than outside temperature

Outside area at caprolactam unload area.

De-mineralized water room with chemicals.

Low hanging pipes and structural steel on some floors.

Air conditioned control room.

Job Qualifications:

A. Training/Education/License/Certification/Registrations/Minimum Requirements:

1. experience in process control.

2. high school diploma ( associate degree a plus )

4. chemical handling experience.

B. Experience Minimum Requirements:

1. experience in process control.

2. chemical handling experience.

C. Physical Requirements:

1. be able to lift 70 pounds.

2. be able to stand for extended periods of time.

3. be able to climb ladders and stairs.

4. be able to operate a computer.
