Did you know that it is not uncommon for cloud computing data centers and other mission critical facilities to utilize uninterruptible power supply systems with more than 50MW of batteries?

We are looking for a Product Manager to develop and drive the implementation of Mitsubishi Electric's roadmap for the advanced battery technologies and other DC power sources integrated with our critical power solutions. In this highly visible position, you'll be responsible for:

  • Assessing emerging and newly available battery technologies for technical, commercial, and strategic fit within our solution portfolio.
  • Embracing the role of as Product Champion in making business cases for developing and launching new products, driving product commercial success, and product lifecycle management.
The ideal candidates will have experience in:
  • Planning, launching, marketing, and product lifecycle management of large-scale battery and DC power products
  • Conducting market research, competitive analysis, focus groups, voice of the customer surveys
  • Developing and proposing business cases for investments in new product and service development.
  • Launching and promote products by collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Service teams to conduct internal training, develop sales tools, implement marketing campaigns, and execute sales strategies.
Essential Functions
  • Lead the identification, realization, marketing, and evolution of products in the Critical Power Solutions (CPSD) portfolio. Plan product development projects in coordination with MEPPI and TMEIC organizations.
  • Research, analyze and compile detailed requirements for product development and realization of strategic initiatives. Maintain market and customer visibility through ongoing market research, competitive analysis, focus groups, voice of the customer surveys, professional publications, and relationships with key industry professionals.
  • Develop and propose business cases for investments in new product and service development.
  • Collaborate with appropriate Divisional teams to review project progress, action items, schedules, and constraints. Assess and resolve schedule issues, constraints, and scope changes as required.
  • Create product, application, and customer case study content for distribution via traditional, digital, and social media.
  • Launch and promote products by collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Service teams to conduct internal training, develop sales tools, implement marketing campaigns, and execute sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with Divisional marketing team to design and implement product marketing (lead generation) campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain relevant portions of price book including product (and option) configuration structure, catalog numbers, and descriptions.
  • Conduct customer webinars and presentations at meetings and industry events.
  • Provide sales and application engineering support to the Division's direct and channel distribution.
  • Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining product-based sales objectives. Revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions.
  • Manage product(s) throughout the lifecycle including identifying, advocating, and prioritizing value-adding enhancements/add-ons/upgrades, revising related marketing efforts, resolving customer satisfaction issues, monitoring and responding to competitive threats, and addressing obsolescence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 7 years' experience in industrial sales and marketing of technical capital goods and related services, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication skills, and presentation skills required to communicate with employees and customers.
  • Ability to communicate with others to complete work.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment.
  • Developed computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
