Location/Division Specific Information

The Product Manager will be responsible for all Ion GeneStudio S5 Sequencers and Ion Chef Systems within the Clinical Next-Generation Sequencing Division.

This position will be located at our office in South San Francisco.

Discover Impactful Work

You will investigate emerging sequencing applications and analyze geographic trends for growth opportunities and lead sustaining activities for our GeneStudio platforms. In this role you will establish and maintain relationships with Customers, R&D, Sales, Support, Marketing, Finance, IT, Legal, Manufacturing, Operations, and Customer Service. A successful candidate will demonstrate integrity, lead with intensity, embrace innovation, and champion involvement across functions to support our products and our customers.

A day in the life

  • Provide day-to-day product management guidance on NPIs around GeneStudio and Chef
  • Lead sustaining activities for the GeneStudio and Chef and assist marketing teams in developing application based and regional marketing plans
  • Own the GeneStudio and Chef product roadmaps with a short, mid, and long-term view
  • Serve as main point of contact for commercial and operations activities for GeneStudio and Chef platforms
  • Conduct market oversight to stay ahead of customer needs and competitive threats
  • Collect Voice of Customer to gather new or validate existing product requirements to ensure our products continue to meet our customer's needs
  • Create and present executive level reports to monitor the health of the business and propose product initiatives for greatest business impact
Keys to Success

Education
  • Bachelors in systems engineering, molecular biology, biochemistry/biophysics or related field.
  • Master's in business (MBA) or PhD preferred.
Experience
  • 3 years of experience in a product management role or support of a life science platform and/or consumable role.
  • Previous experience in Product Management of next-generation sequencing technologies with a track record of launching, sustaining and growing products in this space preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Talent for leading and managing through influence
  • Ability to collect, synthesize and explain complex concepts simply and clearly to different audiences including customers, commercial team and the executive level
  • Skilled in creating financial models to rationalize investment in new product initiative
  • Passion for solving problems including critical thinking and tactical execution skills
  • Prepared to travel both national/international up to 30% of time

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $123,800.00-$154,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
