Discover Impactful Work:

Responsible for the entire order cycle; from receipt of Process Order (PO), manufacturing, packing through to shipment of finished goods, maximizing operating efficiencies and customer service. Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, the incumbent will join a team of Planners and Schedulers, and will be accountable for a portfolio of clients supporting both Drug Product Services (DPS) as well as Pharmaceutical Development Services (PDS) organizations.

A day in the Life:

  • Creates and maintains the production plan in SAP system based on available production capacity (both Machine and labor).
  • Balances and adjusts production plan as appropriate to maximize on time delivery and production efficiencies, with focus on resolution of client conflicts on shared constrained equipment
  • Chairs Short Term Readiness Meeting, Level Load Meeting and Production Handshake Meetings. Demonstrates excellent meeting management skills, while ensuring Agenda, Actions and Meeting Minutes are captured and communicated in good time.
  • Attends daily cross functional huddles; identifies and mitigates supply risks.
  • Coordinates with support teams for document readiness and material availability well ahead of production date, while utilizing outputs from long term readiness meetings.
  • Coordinates client requirements with internal teams, i.e. Procurement, Production, Process pharmacy, Business Management and Quality.
  • Creates and maintains master data, i.e. Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Routings in SAP.
  • Reviews bulk and semi-finished materials before accepting and planning new orders.
  • Reviews various reports including Expiry report to minimize obsolescence
  • Attends client calls as required to provide schedule updates and highlight potential supply risks.
  • Fosters excellent team working skills while entering Process Orders into SAP, based on Schedule Requests (SRFs). Monitors Process Orders to completion, resolves any data errors and works with cross functional teams to remove any barriers.
Keys to Success:

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • College/Technical School diploma in Materials Management or related business field.
  • BSc in Supply Chain, Logistics or similar business field preferred.

    Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM/APICS) CPIM/CSCP or similar certification preferred.
Experience:
  • 2+ years of previous manufacturing planning experience using SAP or equivalent "Business Planning Tools".
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Strong negotiation, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, business perspective and client service orientation. Detail oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to balance and manage changing priorities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral). Works autonomously under general direction to meet project and team objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to recommend improvements relating to processes and systems.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures an asset. Proficient in Microsoft skills (Word, Powerpoint and Advanced Excel).
  • Proficiency with the English language.
