Job Description:

General Description of Responsibilities:

Purpose and nature of the job.

• Manage the Mill Operation during your scheduled and assigned crew.
• Make sure that all mill personnel and the mill's safety is our top priority.
• Make sure we produce a quality product that meets or exceeds all our customers' expectations.
• Manage your crew in scheduling, training, housekeeping, as required by the company.
• Manage your crew in following all standards, policies, and procedures established by the company on all shifts.

Essential functions of fundamental job duties required of the position.

• Supports and adheres to all Company safety regulations and housekeeping guidelines.
• Supervises quality specs of the paper (moisture, caliper, bases weight,)
• Checks Rewinder set ups for correct sizes during the shift
• Assures that sheet quality and appearance is acceptable.
• Optimize production Speeds and Quality
• Optimize production cost, waste cost, and chemical cost
• All work done on your crew must be performed safely.
• Produce and Ship quality products.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout the mill.
• Work with crews and maintenance to troubleshoot operational issues
• Maintain control and provide direction in any situation in accordance with Greif Values
• Communicate expectations clearly and keep good records.
• Timely response to personnel and supervisory concerns.
• Good communication skills to help train new hires and new position personnel.
• Must know how to run ropes and tie ropes and lead the rope crew if one is off.
• Knows LOTO and safety procedures
• Has the knowledge and ability to perform all jobs on the front end.
• Has the ability to be a team leader and lead the crew safely and effectively.

Desired Experience/Qualifications/Education:

High school diploma

Must have knowledge of back tender, lab technician and machine tender job functions are. Must have knowledge of the responsibilities in the beater room to be able to determine the issues with the quality or machine issues.

Knowledge & Skills:

1. Must have some full finisher experience.

2. Familiar with all lab tests, policies and procedures.

3. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

• Good communication skills to help train new hires and new position personnel.
• Must know how to run ropes and tie ropes and lead the rope crew if one is off.
• Knows LOTO and safety procedures
• Has the knowledge and ability to perform all jobs on the front end.
• Has the ability to be a team leader and lead the crew safely and effectively.

Time:

Requires 8.25 hours/day - 6-7 days/week on monthly rotating shifts.

Willing to work overtime (must stay if your relief man doesn't show up)

Follows the Company Attendance Policy and reports to work as schedule.
