Newstalk Program Director - Columbia, MO

Legendary Newstalk stations KFRU and KLIK in Mid-Missouri have a rare opening for Program Director. Applicant must have a passion for delivering local news and information to the public, but other attributes are just as crucial for leading our historic brands. A full understanding of the Newstalk format. A deep embrace of digital media. A complete absence of fear to lead, and to implement change. A complete understanding of automation systems, and how to best use them to our advantage. An unwavering focus to serving Columbia and Jefferson City. Who we are:

KFRU and KLIK are historic Newstalk stations that serve the Columbia and Jefferson City markets. Our talent includes some of the most well-known local personalities in Mid-Missouri. We also feature a robust roster of syndicated talent including Ben Shapiro, Mark Levin, Dan Bongino, and many more. We also deliver sports to Mid-Missouri with local high school football, the NFL, and NASCAR.

The seven Cumulus Mid-Missouri stations are based in Columbia, a city that is home to the University of Missouri. Our stations also serve the state capital, Jefferson City, Lake of the Ozarks, and all of Mid-Missouri. In the Columbia-Jefferson City market we strive to hire passionate, driven, resourceful problem solvers who have the ability to drive the evolving, diverse culture of the Power of Radio to success.

Job Requirements

• Qualifications/Requirements:
  
  Programming experience is a must. We're looking for a track record of success. Top candidates will have unquestioned news and programming judgement. Proficiency with computers and automation systems are absolutely essential. Digital and social strategies must be as engaging as the on-air listening experience. Strong writing and production skills are required. The best candidates will be strong leaders with the ability to make difficult decisions, and to lead our team through challenging situations.
