Position Summary: LifeMoves seeks a professional and highly motivated Program Director to support our growing Rapid Re-Housing Programs (RRHP) team! The LifeMoves RRHP provides housing locating services, case management, and rental assistance to homeless households in San Mateo and Santa Clara County. The Program Director will coordinate matches from San Mateo County Human Services Agency (HSA) and Santa Clara County Office of Supportive Housing (OSH) to ensure our most vulnerable population is being supported with the high-quality services. Our RRHP is part of the Housing & Employment department and the position report to the Director of Housing & Employment.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Oversee and manage daily program operations to enforce policies and procedures
  • Supervise the collection, compilation, and submission of all program statistics, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports submission to senior administrative team; ensuring all reports meet funding and legal requirements
  • Full oversight of staff including hiring, training, supervision, and facilitation of staff meetings
  • Ensure the delivery of all client services in a professional, ethical and effective manner
  • Develop and monitor monthly billing and expenses
  • Coordinate with Core Service Agencies (CSA), HSA and OSH matching referrals from the community que to housing resources and services
  • Assist the Director of Employment & Housing with administration and coordination of activities and programs, and in ensuring that all program objectives are met
  • Support with Case Management in the absence of an RRH Case Manager
  • Meet program operations goals while maintaining program within budget
  • Cultivate and maintain a positive relationship with the property owner/landlords and community partners.
  • Maintain a working partnership with local community groups including government officials, law enforcement and fire safety professionals
  • Work collaboratively with other department Program Directors to provide consistent leadership and support for clients, staff and each other
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in psychology, human services, social work, sociology or related field preferred, but not required (equivalent work and/or lived experience will be considered). MA/MSW in psychology, social work or related a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in social work, psychology or related field and demonstrated experience in rental housing programs for low income, special needs households
  • Considerable knowledge of housing programs including fair housing principles, tenant rights and responsibilities, and crisis prevention and management
  • Strong written and oral communication, personnel management, conflict resolution, and clinical supervision skills are necessary
  • Strong knowledge of substance abuse and relapse prevention, mental health issues, and domestic violence required
  • A strong foundation in the ideas and practices that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion; and a commitment to ongoing professional development in this area
