Interprets and applies company repair and maintenance procedures to provide safe and reliable transportation services. Assists in the development and achievement of department goals. Ensures all repairs and maintenance activities meet federal and state regulations. Performs other duties as assigned by transportation management.
Responsibilities
Plans, directs and supervises maintenance and repair work. Coordinates outside repairs on Company equipment as needed. Reviews vehicles and equipment repairs to ensure compliance with plans, policies and procedures. May provide training to employees when needed. Provide reporting as requested by management as well as analytical data as needed. Gathering and reporting data necessary for budgeting and analytics. Participate in acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of all AVANGRID Fleet assets. Act as the Fleet department representative with Operations, along with the Fleet Regional Manager, to discuss strategic decisions related to the management, purchasing, repair, fuel and administration services for all company vehicles and equipment. Participate in weekly regional meetings to discuss any fleet questions and concerns (65%)
•Develops and maintains monthly vehicle and equipment preventative maintenance schedule in compliance with AVANGRID standards. (5%)
•Records work performed, maintain SAP Fleet system. (10%)
•Executes corporate wide fleet preventative maintenance and repair programs. (15%)
•Stays current on training, service bulletins and developments in the field. (5%)
Skills and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience or High School/GED with 10 years relevant experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of corporate wide business processes and Operations.Experience and training as automotive, heavy duty vehicle or equipment mechanic.Familiarity with state/federal motor vehicle laws/regulations. Valid commercial driver's license (A endorsement) or the ability to obtain one within 6 months. Valid state inspector license or ability to obtain one (where required). Possession of ASE master Automotive Technician and/or Master medium/heavy truck technician preferred. General personal computer skills. Knowledge of automotive theory, hydraulics, automotive electronics and diagnostics, heavy equipment repair and maintenance. Knowledge of state inspection laws (where required). Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and ANSI regulations related to fleet activities. Ability to travel when necessary to visit site's and assist during mutual aid request (up to 35%). Be available by phone to address emergencies that may arise outside of normal business hours
