Abraxas Youth and Family Service is a national leader in the operation of residential treatment facilities and community-based programs for troubled youth and their families.

Summary:  

The position performs administrative, clerical and routine billing and accounting activities for a program or facility and provides administrative support to the administrative office.

Essential Functions:

  • Assures quality and continuity of services and curriculum within established parameters that includes internal policies and external licensing requirements.
  • Completes various client paperwork functions to include intake documents, data entry and reports in support of the program.
  • Assists team in promoting quality internal and external communications between the program, referral agencies and other external sources.
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings between the program and external agencies.
  • Monitors and maintains client discharge information.
  • Accurately enters client demographics and payer information into the division’s databases.
  • Verifies accuracy of billing data and revises any errors.
  • Contacts customers to obtain or relay account information.
  • Keeps records of invoices and support documents.
  • Processes and maintains payroll for the program.
  • Composes routine letters, correspondence, memos, reports, and other confidential information to assist appropriate supervisory and administrative staff members.
  • Maintains and tracks a variety of records to include licensing, accreditation, and contractual documents.

 

 





Minimum Requirements: 

  • The following educational requirements are acceptable for this classification including:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and five years of office related experience; OR
  • Associate’s degree and two years experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and no experience
    • Excellent grammar, communication and organization skills.
    • Ability to compose and edit grammatically correct correspondence and reports.
    • Comprehensive computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
    • Other Qualifications:
      • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
      • Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).
      • Non-communicable diseases physical exam.
      • Valid driver's license from employee’s state of residence.
      • Valid registered vehicle insurance.
    • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
