Boyd Corporation is a market leader and manufacturer of high-performance cooling products for use in the medical, semiconductor, enterprise electronics and aerospace markets. Our continued growth has created an immediate opening for a Project Engineer to support our Woburn, MA facility. We are looking for a highly motivated design engineer with excellent communication skills who can design mechanical pumping systems, support supplier sourcing to win new business and potentially lead NPI projects. This position requires creativity and the ability to sell your ideas internally and to customers.

In this highly visible position in our Engineering department you will:

• Specify components for mechanical pumping systems and heat exchangers.
• Support new and existing supplier development for key components.
• Review and qualify new parts to expand the list of approved components for use in cooling systems.
• Design the layout of mechanical pumping and cooling systems.
• Develop mechanical design packages, including sheet metal with CAD support.
• Write proposals that win new business
• Develop and execute verification test plans
• Write test procedures and engineering reports
• Support production with technical support and product changes
• Potentially manage new product development teams. Ensure that cost, performance and schedule goals are achieved. Actively manage risk mitigation efforts.

The individual will have as a minimum:

• BS degree in mechanical engineering and 2+ years of experience
• Excellent project management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with specifying / sizing pumps and heat exchangers
• Working knowledge of mechanical assembly methods

Desired Background: 5+ years of experience and design experience with temperature controls and refrigeration systems.
