Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Sr. Project Expeditor for our Houston, TX Office. Candidates will be expected to work out of our Houston (Park Ten) campus without relocation assistance or per diem. This role will be required to work in the office on a 9/80 schedule.

This is a senior role that will be responsible for the post-award administration of the largest and most complex orders for major process and chemical projects, such as modules, pipe and steel fabrication, compressors, and electrical building purchase orders.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

Job Description:

Responsible for the Expediting of Purchase Orders to ensure delivery on time and within project

schedules/purchase order terms.

Responsible for coordinating all aspects of desk and field expediting as determined by project strategy,

processes and procedures.

Ensure personnel carry out expediting activities have a clear understanding of processes and procedures.

Manage and monitor the more challenging and complex packages &/or suppliers and identify delivery

improvement opportunities by details analysis of supplier project schedules.

Reports progress of all activities for which they are personally responsible. Update reports/systems with required information to allow accurate reporting and highlights any critical issues and risks to direct supervision.

Skills / Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the successful delivery of all supply chain activities for the area they are responsible for.
  • Provides guidance, direction, and support to the reporting personnel in delivery of their specific responsibilities.
  • Provides guidance, direction, and support to all relevant stakeholders on both Woods and the suppliers specific contractual obligations and responsibilities.
  • Establish and chair regular Supplier status meetings with client, procurement, engineering and/or project management personnel.
  • Establishes priorities, assigns workloads, and reviews the more difficult and complex aspects of the post-award order management.
  • Ensures that supply chain team has a clear understanding of their role, supply chain processes and procedures and provides guidance, direction, and support.
  • Review and interpret supplier production plans/schedules, identify delivery improvement opportunities and negotiate delivery improvements / slippage recovery plans.
  • Review expediting reports to confirm status of orders, sub-orders and validate the agreed manufacturing schedules.
  • Monitor the progress of receipt and return of supplier documentation.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Experience in understanding manufacturing and fabrication schedules with the ability to manage expectations and identify opportunities for schedule improvement.
  • Experience in executing projects utilizing robust material management ERP systems such as AVEVA, SmartPlant, and SAP.
  • Experience in post award management of large complex orders such as compressors, modules, pipe/steel fabrication, and electrical buildings.
  • Strong understanding of the Transportation & Logistics, and Supplier Quality Inspection functions.
  • Ability to travel domestically and globally as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years' Procurement experience demonstrating results and progression to a similar position.
  • Detailed understanding of key expediting procurement concepts, principles, and strong understanding of commercial terms and conditions.
  • Ability to undertake complex negotiations.
  • Familiarity with industry Supply Chain principles and techniques.
