For more than 90 years, the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine has provided comprehensive medical training for medical students, residents and fellows in addition to lifelong learning opportunities for practicing physicians. The department consists of 19 specialty divisions based at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, which is ranked as one of America's Best Children's Hospitals in 10 out of 10 specialties in US News and World Report .
The Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine is one of the leading neonatology programs in the United States, providing neonatology faculty for seven clinical sites in central Indiana, including the Level IV neonatal intensive care unit at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health in Indianapolis.
Neonatal-Perinatal services at Riley Hospital for Children has been ranked #4 in the nation by Parent's Magazine for Neonatal-Perinatal care and ranked 14th in the nation by US News and World Report for top hospitals by specialty. This team of specialty pediatricians cares for more than 3,000 patients each year.
Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at IU School of Medicine continues to grow, offering exciting new opportunities for clinical services, basic and translational research, and innovative educational programs.
Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Designs, plans, and coordinates activities to ensure project/program goals and objectives for the Education and Research mission are met.
- Participates in strategic planning, implementing, and developing the project/program's activities to meet its goals and mission.
- Works directly to support the Assistant Chief of Research, Assistant Chief of Education, Fellowship Program Director and Clinical Research Team.
- Performs duties necessary for program operation, including recruitment, advising and tracking, developing reports and budgets, and maintaining program's informational material.
- Coordinates educational offerings for Division of Neonatology to include annual conference.
- Researches available grants and works closely with managers to identify funding needs and potential sources, creates grant proposals that further advance support of the program and program participants.
- Constructs and administers program budgets and approves spending.
- Tracks progress on deliverables, analyzes data on projected spending and prepares reports for higher management and funding sources.
General Responsibilities
- Manages a small project, from start to finish, or one phase of a large project, ensuring on time completion within budget.
- Develops project plan(s) and efficiently analyzes, tracks, forecasts, and reports on project metrics and shortfalls.
- Reports on progress and provides regular updates to upper management.
- Coordinates and communicates between various areas; conducts project meetings and prepares regular reports.
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure that project objectives are achieved within established time frames.
- May provide guidance and support to non-exempt staff.

Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised SalaryThe salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000. Salary determination is based on experience, skill level, education, and training.
