My client is a well-respected commercial real estate developer who purchase, develop, and build out commercial properties throughout the Northern Virginia area. Due to increased volume of approvals, this organization are looking to hire an Assistant Project Manager to support their growing general contracting division. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing company and the chance for you to fast track into a construction project management position.

Your new role:

As an Assistant Project Manager you will take the reins and manage interior construction projects from start to finish and will be directly responsible for project planning, scheduling, cost control, subcontractor solicitation and buyout as well as all construction documentation and administration to ensure the retail projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will be working on projects that are for the organization's real estate development team and also projects that are secured through hard bid.

Typically the construction projects are in the $100k - $1M in value and could involve commercial office A-C grade office space, lobby and amenity renovations and retail and fitness store fit-outs to name a few. Most of the projects will be in the Loudon County and Fairfax County and you likely be working on 3-4 projects at any given time.

What you'll need to succeed:

My client is interested in talking to Assistant Project Managers with 2-5 years in interior construction experience or professionals who are currently working for a subcontractor who are looking for a step up in their career through joining a general contractor. A college degree in construction, engineering, or similar is required and your commitment to delivering high quality projects is a must.
