The College of Education has a position open for a Project Manager. This position will support two grant-funded projects: (a) the Illinois Center for Transition and Work and (b) the Illinois Training and Capacity Building Project. Primary duties include coordinating the daily workflow for both grants, designing innovative training materials, maintaining active social media and website presence, and communicating and collaborating with team members within and outside of the grant projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day activities, functions, and operational logistics related to the daily operation of the projects.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient and effective daily workflow related to meeting project goals.
  • Manage human and material resources.
  • Serve as a resource person, create linkages, and act as a liaison to other campus and community groups.
  • Process travel reimbursements, purchasing requests, honorariums, and other activities in TEM.
  • Maintain supply inventory for the office and the needs of the staff, students, and contractors within the grant projects.
  • Work closely with grant leadership and staff to both follow and drive progress towards ensuring project milestones are met and that staff efforts are utilized as efficiently as possible.
  • Submit reports (daily, quarterly, or annually) to the program directors and/or funding agent as assigned.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.
  • In state travel may be required.

  • Instructional Design
  • Create/design high-quality, engaging, interactive, and effective e-learning webinars.
  • Design high-quality training materials (e.g., manuals, research briefs, slides, posters, workshop/conference materials, and other resources).
  • Design and maintain the website for each grant project.
  • Create effective means for disseminating information via social media and maintain social media communications.
  • Assist project staff with the dissemination of materials (print & digital), training, and other related products developed by the projects.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.


  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • One year in education, training and/or work experience in project management. Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience. Experience maintaining websites and digital platforms; Experience managing multiple tasks with varying timelines; Experience supporting/supervising hourly staff and/or students. Demonstrated expertise with standard office technology (Microsoft Office Suite)

    Preferred:
    • Master's Degree
    • Experience as a project manager
    • Experience formatting professional presentations and online surveys
    • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and accessibility relating to content
    • Proficiency in a Content Management System (e.g. Sitefinity, Wordpress, Drupal)
    • Strong design and writing skills in relationship to web pages and the online environment
    • Working knowledge of the university system for billing, travel reimbursement (TEM), Banner, and ordering supplies

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Demonstrated ability in decision-making.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal relationship skills, including the ability to interact effectively with team members and university staff.
    • Attention to detail, adaptability, and dependability.
    • Able to independently travel around the state to support grant related activities

    SALARY AND APPOINTMETN INFORMATION:

    This is a full-time Civil Service Program Coordinator position appointed on a 12-month service basis. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. Salary is commensurate with experience.
