SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Project Manager initiates, manages, coordinates and completes assigned projects. This involves the establishment and adherence to project schedules, definition of scope, identification of staffing needs, estimation of time & effort, and communication of project status. Associate interacts with his or her supervisor occasionally during the week, to receive guidance and feedback. Many non-routine activities will require a supervisor's advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Lead and manage project development from beginning to end by defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support desired business outcomes in collaboration with management and stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Partner with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Plan, schedule and track project milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • At least 3-5 years of IT project management experience required
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Information Technology or related field preferred
  • Project Management Certification(s) preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Proficient knowledge of standard project management practices
  • Proficient knowledge of project management software such as MS Project
  • Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease
  • Proficient relationship building skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization, and leverage influential leadership
  • Ability to resolve conflicting situations by effectively negotiating each viewpoint
  • Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to team members
  • Proficient at conducting research into project-related issues and products
  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Proficient customer service skills
