Job Description

The WNET Group will soon launch American Graduate: Jobs Explained, a national digital content initiative that will leverage public media's unique local/national infrastructure to expose high school students to tools and resources that will help them discover well-paying, in-demand careers and industries which may not require traditional educational pathways. Please note this is a grant funded position with an anticipated term of three years with the possibility of renewal.

The Project Specialist will manage a variety of administrative and organizational tasks associated with the day-to-day execution of the project, and support the Project Director in coordinating efforts across multiple departments at WNET, including the Digital Department, Finance, Community Engagement, Kids' Media & Education, Development, and Audience Engagement. In addition, the Specialist serves as a front-line liaison to partner stations in communities across the country. Key responsibilities include:

• Supports the Project Director and collaborates with staff, internal WNET departments, external firms and consultants, and partner stations to meet project timelines, deliverables, benchmarks, and content goals;
• Assists Project Director in identification, communication with, and management of partner public media stations;
• Develops and creates project materials (such as report templates, Requests for Proposals, and presentations);
• Serves as front-line liaison to partner public media stations; troubleshoots and traffics challenges, issues, and questions to appropriate parties;
• Manages contracts and payments for stations, research and evaluation firm, and other project vendors, as needed;
• Coordinates communication with National Business Advisory Board and Youth Advisory Group, and assists Project Director with planning and execution of Advisory Board meetings;
• Identifies and curates collection of current research in job trends, workforce development, and innovative career pathways to inform project content and execution;
• Collects and synthesizes evaluative data and station reporting in conjunction with external evaluation firm;
• General administrative tasks such as scheduling, invoicing, bill payment, travel, etc.
• Additional responsibilities, as needed.

Qualifications include:
• A minimum of two years' experience as an administrative assistant, executive assistant, or project assistant supporting key stakeholders and/or projects in a commercial or non-profit environment;
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills;
• Solid planning, adaptive, and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work with individuals at all levels within the organization;
• Ability to handle multiple deliverables simultaneously and work independently, as well as in a collaborative team environment.

Applicants with experience in education, community outreach or engagement, digital content development, or public programming at museums, arts organizations, or other cultural organizations are strongly encouraged to apply.

Participation in occasional evening and weekend virtual events, as well as domestic travel (state and national health guidelines permitting) may be necessary.
