General Overview

The Project Specialist for PROMs Development supports the build and modification of and quality assurance for patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) questionnaires on the Epic electronic medical records system. Reporting to the Program Manager leading PROMs Development; the Specialist may also be responsible for certain roles or projects that support the MGB PROMs program generally.

Position is hybrid, with possible local travel to Mass General Brigham sites.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Build PROMs questionnaires and approved questionnaire functionality, working in conjunction with MGB Digital's Ambulatory team and policies
Support, conduct and document critical quality assurance reviews of team's work.
Support equity-essential translation of questionnaires and associated copy, working with language access (translation) specialists
For a minority of one's time, support one or more areas of cross-program functionality such as, but not limited to:
Program stakeholder communications (multimedia, email, web content)
Clinician/clinic staff/administrator program training
Clinic tablet procurement and inventory
Research and data initiatives

Qualifications
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in related field
  • 2-3 years' experience in a field related to healthcare quality and safety, research, healthcare information technology or another related field.
  • Experience preferred related to PROMs collection, training, and measurement; or similar experience in supporting patient-focused workflows/programs in clinical settings. Certifications in Epic Systems EHR software are helpful
  • Analytical skills to support operational decision making
  • Experience with clinic or patient workflows and in working with or understanding clinicians and/or administrators preferred.
  • This position requires the successful completion of Epic MyChart and Ambulatory certifications as well as Epic's Patient-Entered Data Badge course. Epic certifications are prepared for on the employer's time and are paid for by the employer. Short business travel to Verona, WI may be required to complete certain Epic learning. Training/certifications are completed in the initial months of employment and are required for continued work in this position.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
Skills, Abilities, Competencies
  • Highly detail oriented. Ability to engage effectively in critical quality assurance reviews of team work as well as of one's own work.
  • Interest in the intersection of healthcare IT (EHR) and patient care programs
  • Interest in and comfort with learning to use and mastering a portion of a detailed healthcare information technology suite of tools.
  • Possess interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross functional teams including staff at various levels of the organization
  • Ability to successfully negotiate and collaborate with others of different skill sets, backgrounds and levels within and external to the organization
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and business writing and communication skills and professional demeanor with excellent attention to detail and follow through, a proactive approach to problem-solving, high functioning organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and innovative approach
  • Requires minimal direction from management and possesses the ability to learn quickly
