Position: Purchasing Analyst (Buyer)

Location: 1276 Military Road, Kenmore, NY 14217

Schedule: M-F (8 hour shift, Days)

What We Are Looking For

We are currently seeking a Purchasing Analyst to join our Purchasing team. This position will be primarily responsible for planning, forecasting and purchasing materials in support of the sales efforts at all Shanor locations.

What You Will Do

  • Manage relationships with specific product vendors
  • Work with vendor to purchase material for resale, special promotions, quarterly/semi-annual/ year end buys in order to attain company purchase goals
  • Work with sales and inventory control to develop proactive purchasing plans to avoid stock-out of material
  • Review and fulfill purchase requirements for direct item purchases through purchase orders.
  • Track, monitor, expedite delivery of goods and services with suppliers.
  • Integrate materials requirement with Operations to enable seamless execution.
  • Manages supplier receipt exception process and arranges for return of obsolete and surplus material, return of rejected materials, and communicate with vendors/agents concerning discrepancies.
  • Assist with data gathering and analytics.
  • Provide support and build relationships with stakeholders in different departments.
  • Uses ERP system reporting and best practices for accurate inventory planning and stocking levels.
  • Assist with inventory management.

What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2years related experience
  • Strong knowledge of the electrical industry including competitors and market trends
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Strong Math and Statistical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good negotiations and problem-solving skills
  • Effective reporting and presentation skills
  • Strong project-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work efficiently and maximize productivity
  • Commitment to integrity and ethical behavior and the proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Competency in the following computer programs: MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times
