SUPPLY CHAIN

Rocket Lab's Supply Chain team is responsible for the flow of all materials, products, and components through the business. With many of our own products functioning as critical components to our own and our customers' missions, the Supply Chain team has a direct impact on the success of our rocket and satellite programs. They set up the assembly kits that enables our technicians to put together our Electron rockets, manage inventory, look after shipping and receiving, manage direct and indirect procurement, and inspect and ensure that all of our materials and products are compliant and up to standard. They are the chain that links our teams together, and are critical to our success.

PURCHASING COORDINATOR

Purchasing Coordinators are key resources within the Purchasing function, supporting Buyers to ensure the timely delivery of purchased materials from our global supply chain. Purchasing Coordinators follow up with vendors for updated status on open orders, expedite deliveries where needed, and help resolve any problem orders within our procure-to-pay process.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO

  • Responsible for the on-time-delivery of purchased parts from vendors to Rocket Lab
  • Accountable for follow-up with suppliers regarding purchase order deliveries, and expediting as required
  • Responsible for maintaining order management data integrity by updating delivery dates
  • Proactively work with Buyers and Planners to ensure that supplier delivery dates meet key production and or project milestones
  • Resolving inwards goods non-conformances (such as under-supply or incorrect part shipped) to ensure purchase orders can be receipted in a timely manner
  • Resolving overdue invoices for payment to ensure timely compliance with agreed supplier payment terms
  • Maintain buying master data relating to price, lead-time and ordering parameters
  • Responsible for administrating the new supplier onboarding process
  • Other duties asked by your manager, relevant to your role

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PURCHASING COORDINATOR I:
  • Highschool Diploma/GED and 0+ years of experience
  • Proficient using Microsoft Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Access)
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PURCHASING COORDINATOR II:
  • Highschool Diploma/GED and 1+ years of experience
  • Proficient using Microsoft Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Access)
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
  • Proven ability to clearly communicate, manage work tasks, and provide status updates.
  • Team oriented, strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and to multiple deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently
  • Proficient in MRP systems
  • Prior experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be physically able to commute to buildings
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.
