The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) will be responsible for implementation and management of the Elam Mental Health Center Quality Management Plan and to organize and manage the intake process. The QAM will also oversee compliance with accreditation, licensure, and contract compliance with respect to clinical documentation above and beyond policy and procedures included in the Quality Management plan. Center activities under the scope of the QAC's responsibility include training, Intake, Quality Management, Utilization Review, Accreditation, Licensure, Contract compliance, and Credentialing.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities) - Assign a percentage to each essential function (equal to 100%):

  • Act as Chairperson of Elam Center Quality Management Committee and ensure compliance with Elam Quality Management Committee activities.

  • Oversee and manage the intake process and the intake team, ensure timely admission for potential patients and clear communications to patients, their support teams, and referral sources.
  • Be a participating member of scheduled treatment team meetings and client-care conferences.

  • Be a participating member of Elam Center Management Teams.
  • Participate in agency training activities as required.
  • Responsible for monitoring department training assess agency training needs and arrange for appropriate staff training and ensure proper documentation and storage of training records.

  • Monitor and facilitate compliance with clinical staff credentialing file reviews and reporting changes in staff credentialing status. Coordinates with auditors on annual audits.

  • Maintain a managerial knowledge of applicable of HIPPA & 42CFR Part 2 and ensure proper procedures are in place to safeguard client protected health information.
  • Plan and facilitate quarterly professional reviews of clinical records. Responsible for auditing the accuracy and timeliness of medical charts of clients.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor or Senior Leadership.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have a Tennessee Driver License to facilitate local travel
  • Adhere to the guidelines as stated in the Meharry Medical College Policy and Procedures manual.
  • Be courteous, tactful, and discrete in relating to the public, other staff, and clients.
  • Respect and protect clients rights (including confidentiality) and ensure that client's respect the rights of others by appropriately intervening and/or reporting when program rule violations occur
  • Acquire, maintain, and practice skills regarding sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds of clients and other contacted in caring out job responsibilities.

Education and Experience:

Masters' degree in counseling related field of study from an accredited college or university with five year experience in behavioral health service delivery or the equivalent experience
