What we need:

Mohawk is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician responsible for all quality assurance and compliance activities with the applicable regulatory requirements.

What you'll do:

• Ensure the quality of products produced meets shipment requirements and customer specifications to minimize the possibility of waste due to the rejection of unacceptable products.
• Responsible for resolving specific customer complaints by working with other departments and team members.
• Perform inspections, audits and trials of materials to ensure uniformity and early problem detection.
• Assist in identifying quality nonconformance and assess the need for internal corrective action.
• Ensure the environmental and personal safety of employees and the surrounding community following regulatory guidelines.
• Work closely with plant management to complete special projects as needed.
• Increase learning and improve motivation through participative management with training and cross-training employees, development opportunities and coaching.
• Works nights/weekends as needed to address concerns in yarn conversion, tufting, dyeing, and/or coating.

What you have:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
• One year of progressively responsible work experience.
• Certified professional/technical training.
• Experience with QA concepts, practices, and procedures.

What you're good at?

• Understand and comply with all Mohawk safety regulations and rules.
• Must have basic knowledge of internally extruded polymer types (PA, PET, PTT), CAMS and ASC SEQUEL.
• Must be an effective team member.
• Have strong oral, written, presentation, interpersonal communication, and team facilitation skills to effectively interact with all levels of employees including senior management and internal and external customers.
• Ability to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Build more advanced Excel spreadsheets using pivot tables, vlookup, etc.
• Responding to customer and/or employee needs concerns and/or complaints promptly and effectively.
• Basic understanding of internal/external quality and manufacturing operations.
