Shift: Rotates Depending on need

Work hours: 12hr

Primary Purpose of Position:

Carries out the quality control plan by performing quality checks on materials, at the production lines and helping make decision on disposition of materials that may have some type of defect.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Conducts inspections of in-process materials and in-process finished products to meet customer specifications. This includes but is not restricted to measuring FFCH, overlap, flange width; measuring squareness, length, and height pressure, checking metal exposure, steel quality, and tester as required. Performs other checks as required.
• Advises production when inspection results do not meet customer specifications.
• Responsible for replenishing supplies and materials required for assigned areas.
• Performs record keeping, filing duties, Hold-For-Inspection (HFI), and related duties as required.
• Performs troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on inspection equipment as required.
• Performs organizational duties, including maintaining an organized and clean work area, complying with 5S guidelines.
• Communicates pertinent information to next crew.
• Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.
• Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the division, the group, and the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts. Participates in teams and work groups with goal of continuous improvement.
• Required to work scheduled shift per the needs of the plant. While the regular working cycle of this position is usually a 3-2-2 continuous schedule, working hours may vary as specified by management. Incumbent must be able to work overtime on a regular basis.
• Interacts with customers to verify quality and satisfaction.
• Participates in facility's ISO 9000 endeavors.
