SUMMARY:

Performs testing and supports data analysis. Effectively documents and communicates results in a timely fashion working closely with Production and other Manufacturing personnel. Assists with running and programming CMM. Creates IP sheets working with IP team lead and programmers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create programs for Keyence measurements
• Create/Review IP inspection sheets
• Assists with the creation of CMM programs
• Blueprint interpretation
• Independently perform inspections and tests to qualify material (First Article, Receiving, Set-up, In-process, and Final Inspections)
• Record, summarize, and report on testing data
• Complete quality-related and continuous improvement project work
• Participate in investigations of root cause and corrective actions, implement preventative actions
• Train operators and inspectors on the use of measuring devices and completion of inspection sheets
• Responsible for cleanliness of his/her own work area and the general housekeeping of the Company
• Completion of other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum High school diploma
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Quality
• Skilled at an understanding of Blueprints
• Basic knowledge of geometric tolerance
• Knowledge of two of the following classes of equipment - CMM/Optical Comparator/ Instron Machine
• Skilled at using metrology hand tools and gauges
• Ability to train operators on the use of measuring devices and completion of inspection sheets.
• Attention to detail is a must
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee will use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and to use a computer keyboard with a mouse for long periods of time. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse, the employee is exposed to noise and aluminum particles. The noise level is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required in designated areas. The employee is required to wear safety glasses and safety shoes when in the plant.
