Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is seeking a Radio and Network Engineer in Aberdeen, MD. The Engineer will act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assist C5ISR Center, ESI, Tactical Radios Branch (TRB). The candidate will play a critical role in TRB's support of their clients with activities related to the operation and characterization of various radio products, and other communications methods in support of systems that conduct Spectrum Warfare, Electronic Support, Electronic Attack, Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and Cyber and Electro Magnetic Affects (CEMA) operations.

The candidate will work in both a laboratory and field environment configuring and utilizing various radios, mission systems, and associated networks to evaluate and determine optimal communications methods to link devices such as sensors and EW systems with their control stations, operation center or command post.
Develop or investigate novel methods to implement a communications Primary, Alternative, Contingency, and Emergency (PACE) plan that will be used to interconnect various network elements and/or sensors in a tactical environment. Methods to automate the PACE plan will be investigated and characterized in a lab as well as live environment. Distances could range from a few hundred meters to several hundred kilometers or more. The candidate should understand considerations, such as LPI and LPD, taking into account operations in multi domains and in the presence of near-peer adversaries.
The candidate will provide expert consultation to government staff members such as product managers and chief engineers in the Electromagnetic Warfare and Cyber (EW&C) field on matters related to communications and networking and give briefings on findings from lab and field studies. The candidate will provide input for recommendations and alternative solutions to communications challenges based on experimentation and testing.
The candidate will support field testing as required and directed by the government task lead. Field testing will include both local as well as other remote locations in the US and abroad.
The candidate is expected to take initiative and complete tasks as assigned with limited supervision.
