The Ambulatory Regional Director is responsible for the clinical operations of an assigned segment of the ambulatory network including the development and execution of the annual operating plan. In conjunction with clinical leadership and the other ambulatory regional directors, manages their assigned portion of the primary care service line. Develops, monitors and manages the assigned segment of the ambulatory network's performance goals which include financial, growth, quality, safety, and patient experience metrics across the continuum of care. Develops high quality programs that meet regulatory review requirements and enhance the stature of the ambulatory network. Works collaboratively across the continuum of care and with all leaders in the organization to achieve organization goals.

Position Responsibilities:

Operations:

Oversees all aspects of ambulatory operations for assigned region. Collaborates with clinical leadership and other clinical operational leaders to optimize the continuum of care for patients and families who receive care from assigned region. Develops and implements improvement plans to address performance issues in order to achieve organizational goals.

Financial:

Manages all labor, supply, and occupancy costs for assigned ambulatory region to achieve forecast goals. Ensures establishment of staffing needs and productivity standards designed to provide maximal patient care while being financially sustainable. Monitors trends in reimbursement for clinical program services in governmental and non-governmental payers. Works to ensure best possible reimbursement and achievement of revenue cycle performance goals. Manages all supply and occupancy expenditures.

Service Line Management:

Works with assigned clinical leadership to manage assigned portions of the primary care service line. Includes management of the clinical practice for assigned Loyola Medicine employed physicians. Works to develop proposals improve financial performance, quality, safety, and experience for the assigned portions of the primary care service line.

Experience, Quality, and Safety:

Ensures best possible experience (including care quality and safety) for all stakeholders of assigned ambulatory region (patients, visitors, physicians, staff, etc). Works with clinical leadership to identify opportunities to improve the services provided so that stakeholders report an outstanding experience. Continually assesses for opportunities to increase value and experience.

Regulatory: Ensures ongoing and continuous compliance with TJC, IDPH and other regulatory agencies. Develops and monitors systems to ensure compliance and effectively deal with any issues which impact compliance.

Facilities: Ensures facilities meet the programmatic needs of clinical program patients and faculty. Develops proposals and plans to ensure that as programs grow the facilities are efficiently utilized and are responsive to patient and referring source needs.

Minimum Education:

  • Master's degree required (MBA, MSN, MHA).

Minimum Experience:
  • 10 years of previous job-related experience required.

Managerial Experience:
  • 5+ years required.
