Job Description

The Regional Director of Business Development will also collaborate closely with the Development, Strategy & Innovation (DS&I) Team at Corporate level within the MW BU. The DS&I is a newly established team with the mandate to support and enhance the growth of business across all divisions of the MW BU including the regulated business and the O&M business, by leading key strategic initiatives, strategic planning, roll out of commercial excellence best practices, supporting project and proposals development, ensuring the proper WIN process implementation, identifying and implementing the BU marketing strategy, defining and promoting new business models, in close
coordination with the different teams involved.

Job Summary:
As Regional Director of Business Development, you will manage and execute the profitable growth objectives set by the President of the Region, by developing and closing sustainable contracts while respecting the goals and values of Veolia NA.

You will be responsible for:

Managing opportunities through the new WIN process and Commercial Excellence program
across the O&M Region, following procedures and tools while being in a continuous
improvement mindset. Participating to monthly pipeline review calls to track progress with the
MW DS&I team.

Regional Director of Business Development - Job Description● Participating in definition and implementation of the Region growth strategy, in close
collaboration with MW DS&I team, including efforts to adapt portfolio of businesses and
projects as well as new business model opportunities to our strategic plan, definition and
promotion of cross-selling initiatives.
● Develop a pipeline of new leads in the assigned territory, using proactive communications to
potential clients in line with the organization's strategic goals.
● Leading and preparing responses to RFP's (Request for proposal) and RFQ's (Request for
Quotation). Ensuring that proposals reflect VNA value proposition.
● Coordinating internal teams to prepare proposals, including assigning tasks and setting
deadlines, tracking progress and ensuring high-level quality of the proposal and other
deliverables. Managing and participating in pricing and presentations to clients.
● Leading negotiation with the client, including understanding client' needs and value
proposition. Collaborating in the preparation of agreements and possible structuring of
financing solutions.
● Participating in the development, continuous refinement and implementation of business and
marketing plans, in collaboration with Regional President and Municipal Water DS&I team.
● Gathering and sharing market and competitive intelligence on industry trends to use them to
make informed decisions on business development and growth.
● Creating a positive environment of achievement, excellence and accountability within the BD
team and promoting collaboration with all teams.
Responsibilities:
The following are specific responsibilities for the role:
● Establish and support a culture of collaboration intra VNA and cross divisions focused on
growth
● Identify opportunities and value-proposition for the client, while preparing proposals from
coordination of internal teams to presentation to the client and negotiations
● Participate in the definition and implementation of the growth strategy at the regional level, in
close collaboration with the Region President and the MW DS&I team

Qualifications

Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree desired in Business Management or related field ; MBA or other
advanced degrees a plus
● 10+ years of related experience. Progressive Sales & Business Development in service company.

Skills / Abilities needed:
● Experience in Commercial Excellence and Strategic / Key Account Management a plus
● Eight (8) years of experience leading teams with proven mentoring and coaching abilities a
plus
● Ability to understand customers perspective, key business drivers and critical success factors
in the environmental services industry.
● Strong ability to customize an offering around a client's needs and drivers, and to develop
value-proposition.
● Ability to successfully prioritize, and manage large, complex projects, deadlines, and tasks in a fast-paced environment
● Excellent interpersonal, verbal, persuasion, presentation, and relationship/team building skills in order to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external contacts. Proven ability to negotiate with high-level government and industry representatives.
● Collaborative and creative team player with drive for innovation and continuous improvement of systems, processes and tools
● Ability to thrive in a flexible and collaborative environment
● Working knowledge of SalesForce a plus
