Purpose

The Regional Grants Management Manager will report to the Regional Director and will support development and fundraising efforts for CWS's West Region through grant prospecting, grant writing, donor communication, management of grant initiatives, foundation and grant-maker relations, as well as serving as the local point person for development. This position is key to ensuring that the West Region CWS offices continue to expand and diversify public and private funding streams to sustain the mission of welcoming refugees and immigrants to local communities across the region.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Research public and private grant opportunities for the CWS West offices; Oversee the creation of an annual development strategy.
  • Oversee proposal development, including completing the grant writing and preparing grant proposals; Maintain records of grantmaking history, including successful and failed proposals, and grant-maker contact information and focus areas.
  • Create a grants calendar and checklists, including assigning tasks and respective timelines to team members for timely grant preparation and submission.
  • Work with program leadership to develop Log Frames and Theories of Change for their respective program areas.
  • Monitor grant reporting deadlines; coordinate reporting in conjunction with relevant program, leadership and finance staff; completes and submits funder-required reports.
  • Coordinate federal grant submission processes, working with CWS Business Development, Office Directors and program leadership to complete their respective pieces of the proposals, compiling and editing all necessary attachments, and submitting to CWS HQ and/or federal funders directly.
  • Liaise with current and new foundation and grantmaking officers and staff to nurture those partnerships and keep them informed as appropriate. Maintain regular communication with donors.
  • Plan annual outreach and events, including annual engagement events, such as open houses, educational presentations etc.
  • Oversee communication with the community and potential donors through maintaining a newsletter, social media presence, and developing website content.
  • Stay informed about refugee and immigrant issues and policy, advocate for refugee and immigrant friendly policies and practices.
  • Represent CWS in meetings and events relevant to the position.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelors' degree required; Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:
  • At least 5-years' experience in grant research, writing, reporting, and management
  • History of success securing grants from a variety of grantmaking institutions
  • Experience developing grant budgets and monitoring and evaluation processes.
  • Demonstrated success with fundraising, including events coordination and individual giving.

Skills:
  • Grant-writing and research at the private, state, and federal level
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present to large groups.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Salesforce, Social Media platforms
  • Strong skills in writing, editing, and proposal development.
  • Ability to tailor proposals for various audiences
  • English-language fluency
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to develop Theories of Change, log frames, and evaluation tools.
  • Must have grant writing experience.

Special Requirements

  • Work varied hours, including occasional nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Position is hybrid with occasional in-office activities and regional travel.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within the southwestern region.
  • Must have clean driving record, valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle. Mileage accrued while executing work responsibilities is reimbursable by CWS.
  • Must be able to pass a Background Check
