Your Role:
The Regional Sales Manager is directly responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing our sales strategy for our academic, hospital, and government accounts in line with the companies' strategic plan, and delivering the sales performance of your Sales Team. You are responsible for the leadership of your direct team. Collaboration with every touch point in the organization is paramount to success in this role. You will be responsible for creating and driving effective business plans to meet and exceed sales and profit targets. Also, you will have the responsibility for developing, maintaining and managing within an expense budget. The scope of responsibility is defined by market segments, channel to market, geographic area and/or named accounts.

This position requires you to travel approximately 40-60% of the time, including overnight and some weekend travel. Your territory will be the South Central, US.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Plan, hire, lead, develop, coach and retain a sales team able to drive not only the current goals and opportunities but is also able to support future growth and strategic direction.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales volume goals through leadership, coaching and development of sales team.
  • Responsible for quota setting at the Territory Level.
  • Communicates organizational vision and market strategies, priorities, goals that ensures clear understanding at all levels within the team as well as to upper management.
  • Work cross-functionally to build business strategies.
  • Deliver regular, timely and accurate forecasts on business performance as defined by Senior Leadership.
  • Establishes and reinforces strategic relationships within the life science industry in the Academic, Hospital, and Government Market.
  • Ensures that Millipore-Sigma operates within local business regulations.
  • Provide development plans and/or career opportunities to your team and identify top performers for succession planning.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in any discipline.
  • Business knowledge of Life Science industry, including products, strategy, processes, way of operating, cultural awareness.
  • 5+ years of prior sales experience in the research marketplace or similar business.
  • 3+ years of prior sales management experience in the research marketplace or similar business.
  • Experience leading a team, defining business strategy, and holding direct reports accountable to sales targets and business financial metrics.
  • Experience working cross functionally, i.e. Strategic Marketing (SMI's), Commercial Marketing Services, Field Marketing and Commercial Operations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Business or similar discipline.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, collaborative, and results oriented.
  • Strong networking skills externally and internally.
  • Ability & openness to establish new business & communication tools.
  • Team oriented, with strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Able to manage conflicts and ability to lead critical discussions.
  • Able to provide strong presentations to management, employees, and customers.
  • Strong analytical skills in using data to make sound recommendations and business decisions.
