Description:
Position Summary:
Using the Quality Caring Model, demonstrates acceptable performance and applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of routine patients in the Intermediate Care Unit, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.

Effectively communicates fundamental patient/family information to the health care team. Identifies and communicates variances from patient goals. Responsible for providing and coordinating interdisciplinary patient care utilizing the nursing process.

The employee will support the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.

Unit Description:

This 30-bed unit provides care for high-acuity patients across a wide spectrum of complex specialties. Comorbidities are diverse and patients often require cardiac telemetry monitoring and/or mechanical ventilator support.

  • Full-time rotating day/night shift schedule (7am - 7pm or 7 pm - 7 am).
  • Reporting to the Director of 3 South/Intermediate Care Unit.
  • Unit equipped with two negative pressure rooms and patient lift assist equipment in all rooms.
  • On-site Nurse educator.
  • Acute/Critical Care course for nurses who are new to the acute, in-patient population.
