REMOTE Director of Engineering - High Growth Digital Marketing *Job Title:* Director of Engineering
*Location:* 100% Remote forever!
*Salary:* $200k-$290k DOE + Annual Bonus (20%-30%) + 401k Match

We are a multi faceted leader in the digital marketing and media industry that specializes in lead generation, customer acquisition and performance based marketing. We create financial web properties, products, tools, and content that connect brands with their most valuable audiences.

On our own sites, we drive new customers to our advertisers' products and services, matching our clients' targets and beating their customer acquisition goals. We also provide full-funnel marketing through custom content and video to promote client brand messages and products. Our approach generates stronger awareness, branding and targeted audience engagement across millions of consumers both on our sites and our partner sites. For our partners, we improve their monetization efforts through native ad units and branded comparison tables. We work with large publishers to grow their audiences and ad revenue by syndicating our original content.

The Director of Engineering will be responsible for the tools and systems we use internally, as well as the platforms that we build on AWS, WordPress, etc. from creation to strategy to execution, and sharing of output and impact. This role will work cross functionally with Data Engineering and Product Management teams.

An ideal candidate will have strong executive presence with the ability to lead cross-functional meetings, as well as a strong mix of both technical skills and the ability to drive strategic thinking and is results focused and committed to high quality delivery. This role will work across various teams across multiple time zones-- strong communication skills are a must.
What You Will Be Doing - Manage, mentor and grow a team of engineers (both in-house and off-shore) that are focused on systems used internally & platforms we build on
- Manage the execution of your teams roadmap to make an impact to the business goals
- Constant learning and discovery of new platforms and technologies that can accelerate our growth and help us operate more effectively
- Build strong relationship with peers in Data Engineering & Data Science
- Seek and on-board tier one talent on a continuous basis
- Run and improve an agile/rapid development process
- Develop architectures that will scale under load and allow for rapid development in the future
- Lead all DevOps/Platform strategy and team
- Manage personnel and vendors that support internal IT and employee helpdesk needs
What You Need for this Position - 8+ yrs experience managing developers focused on a variety of internal systems, including ad-servers and content publishing platforms
- Experience performing code reviews
- Experience managing onshore and offshore teams across all time zones
- Extensive experience in AWS and WordPress, as well as security, load times, monitoring, and up-time
- Experience working with Python, Node.js, and PHP
- Strength in Agile software engineering processes and methodologies
- Experience working at a high growth company that you helped massively scale
- Experience working for an AdTech, Digital Media, Digital Marketing, and / or Performance Marketing company
- High-level communicator who seeks team collaboration and shared success.
- Passion to build systems and technology to address automation, scale and innovation
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent (MS in CS preferred)
- Must be able to work PST hours
