RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce is seeking a Remote Software V&V engineer for their client in Carlsbad, CA. The Remote Software V&V engineer will assist in system and integration testing for implantable sensor and system technologies. Success in this role will require experience in medical device verification and validation, an appetite for fast-paced and hands-on work in a growing venture-backed organization, and exceptional communication skills. Summary:In this role, your principal work responsibilities will be to define verification and validation test approaches and translate them into test protocols. Your responsibilities will also include executing test protocols, documenting test results, and Intended Use Validation (IUV). Your job will be to ensure system-wide quality and reliability. This position will report to the Manager of Data Software in the Research and Development department. You will work closely with software and hardware engineering. You will be involved with the continued development and commercialization of Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) and Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA) products, including its various kinematic and orthopedic measurements, Cardiovascular (CV) products, and the faithful transmission of the data to the cloud. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science or more advanced degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related scientific, technical, or engineering discipline is required for this position
  • Experience in an FDA regulated medical device manufacturing environment
  • Experience with FDA regulated quality management systems
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle
  • Minimum of 3 years software V&V
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with: Implantable medical devices such as pacemakers, artificial hearts, infusion pumps, diagnostic equipment, or other technologies with design/manufacturing considerations relevant to the company's offerings; Medical mobile applications experience; Cloud computing experience; Cyber security testing experience; Intended Use Validation (IUV);
  • Prior experience developing test plans and test cases for software testing
  • Test automation experience
  • Embedded systems experience
  • Systems and integration testing experience
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • A commitment to quality
  • Ability to work well in cross-functional teams (across geography and culture) with a group of people with diverse skill sets and personalities
  • Team player, flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to build good working relationships, both inside and outside the organization
