Hourly or Salary Range:

$20.00 per hour

Job Summary:

This Research Assistant (Assessor) will primarily be responsible for administering assessments to elementary school participants as part of an IES grant examining the efficacy of the Friends On the Block curriculum. This position will assess students individually in 20-45 minute sessions. Additionally, the position will monitor learning growth with curriculum assessments. The Research Assistant (Assessor) will communicate with classroom teachers to coordinate scheduling and obtain needed information.

This is a part-time, partial year position that works approximately 20 hours per week.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess students using cognitive and academic assessments. Progress monitoring regularly to monitor academic growth.
  • Participate in team meetings to ensure an open and consistent flow of communication between project staff. Participate in other day-to-day operations of the research grant as needed.
  • Position requires travel to local area schools in the DFW area.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A High School diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred; prefer degree in Education or Psychology.

A minimum of 1 year of experience working with children with disabilities is preferred.

Prefer knowledge of working with students with disabilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate should have excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and able to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Candidate should have strong time management skills.

Must have strong attention to detail.
