Research Assistant
Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator and Research Program Coordinator, we are seeking a Research Assistant who will primarily assist in the day-to-day logistical and operational tasks for multiple research studies in the Department of Mental Health in the School of Public Health, Center on Aging and Health and the Department of Psychiatry in the School of Medicine. This person will be involved in a video intervention study in older adults with mild cognitive impairment and/or past traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with study faculty and Psychiatry staff to recruit, enroll, schedule and conduct pre- intervention and post- intervention neuropsychological evaluations and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) among enrolled patients.
  • Assist with weekly administration of an immersive video game intervention.
  • Responsible for re-recruiting former research participants from a community-based intervention study in older adults at increased risk for physical and cognitive impairment.
  • Work with lead investigators to identify, arrange and conduct re-recruitment activities, and maintain the study tracking database.
  • Prepare study materials and conduct phone evaluations.
  • Work with investigators to conduct quality control queries, assist with developing reports, coding variables within REDCap and generate descriptive statistical reports.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with statistical analyses and analytical software (e.g., STATA, SAS, SPSS)
  • Experience using REDCap to store data and create reports.
  • Experience with performing behavioral assessments with participants.
  • Experience with social media outreach for recruitment.

Starting Salary Range: $16.75-$23.00-$29.30 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
