This Research Assistant (RA) will work on clinical trials currently being conducted for the Division of Preventive Medicine. Working under the supervision of the Project Manager, the employee in this position will perform a variety of tasks, including managing study appointments and meeting with study participants. They will help manage study data as needed. This RA will also be responsible for maintaining records, reviewing data collection forms for accuracy, and preparing study correspondence. This position will require onsite clinic work.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Oversees all aspects of subject's clinic visit according to unit guidelines, hospital and study policies, procedures, and protocols. Performs study measurements and documents these measurements according to study protocol. Practices independent judgment regarding study appointments.

2. Follows all safety procedures during study appointments. Pages, emails, or calls Study Manager, Safety MD, and PI as required by safety protocols. Interacts with clinic staff as required.

3. Completes doctor's orders for the study safety MD to review and sign for each clinic visit. This involves contacting the subject and discussing medical history as well as medications.

4. Trains on study measures.

5. Participates in ongoing Quality Assurance Audits.

6. Re-trained yearly on study measurements by Study Manager or Lead RA. Completes extra trainings throughout the year as needed or required by Study PIs.

7. Transports study blood and urine samples according to hospital protocol. Generates lab requisitions sheets.

8. Travels by shuttle to all scheduled study visits.

9. Attends and participates in staff meetings; other research meetings as required.

10. Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications
1. BA or BS

2. Ability to understand the underlying principles of a research study and to apply these principles to day-to-day tasks.

3. Computer literacy.

4. Work experience in customer service or research experience.

1. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

2. Attention to details.

3. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively and professionally with a diverse group of study participants.

5. Excellent organizational, problem solving, and priority setting skills.

6. A general familiarity with computers and knowledge of how to use software programs.

7. Flexible and able to manage multiple tasks.
