About the Position
The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts & Sciences is seeking a full-time Research Associate 1 to join the Hispanic Community Health Study / Study of Latinos which is now beginning a Sexual and Gender Minority (SGM) ancillary study. The ancillary study will specifically focus on cardiovascular health disparities affecting Latinx/Hispanic SGM individuals, as well as the role of intersectional minority stress and resilience in shaping these disparities. The Research Associate will have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Public Health, or other related field.
As detailed below, the responsibilities of the Research Associate will include conducting structured research interviews related to the ancillary study, as well as data coordination and management. The Research Associate will be to identify, recruit, and retain research participants, and to collect data via interviews. Successful applicants have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be highly organized, pay attention to details, be motivated, and work independently as well as with others in a research environment. Cultural competence in working with SGM and Hispanic/Latinx populations is critical. Excellent English/Spanish skills (both verbal and written) are also required to serve the research population.
