Job Description Summary
The Drapkin Laboratory at the Penn Ovarian Cancer Research Center is seeking a Research Specialist (RS) to play a pivotal role in our team. This position is primarily focused on conducting mouse-based research to further our understanding of ovarian cancer biology. The ideal candidate will have experience in animal handling and related experimental procedures, serving as the backbone for our in vivo studies. In addition to proficiency in animal care and handling, the RS will possess skills in cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemical techniques, working under the guidance of post-doc in the lab. Responsibilities include mouse handling, managing immortalized cell lines, performing standard molecular biology protocols, and actively participating in weekly project and lab meetings. The successful candidate will maintain meticulous records in an organized notebook, ensuring the integrity and reproducibility of our research. This position is well suited for candidates who plan to pursue graduate or other school training after a two-year commitment, with an expectation that the commitment will not extend beyond this period.
