Job Description Summary
This hire will be responsible for conducting research in the Pack laboratory using cell culture and mouse models. The research involves assisting with genotyping and phenotypic analyses of mouse mutants including histological analyses, in situ hybridization, Western blot analyses, transcriptional profiling and other molecular studies and image analyses using advanced microscopy techniques. Other studies include embryological analyses (microinjection and transplantation studies); generation and maintenance of transgenic lines. Cell culture studies involve gene expression analyses and loss and gain of function studies using siRNA or cDNA expression. This hire will also be responsible for helping with lab management, lab safety and maintenance of IACUC records.

This hire will also be responsible for helping with lab management, lab safety and maintenance of IACUC records.
Research Specialist C
In addition to the above responsibilities, the research specialist C would be involved with isolation and maintenance of primary cells lines from murine digestive organs, in vitro biochemical analyses with primary and transformed cell lines. This hire will also be expected to manage IACUC animal protocols.
Qualifications:
Research Specialist B: Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Research Specialist C: Bachelor of Science and 4 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
