Job Description Summary
Plans and conducts complex experiments to meet research project objectives. Performs laboratory experiments and clinical studies for product or material formulation and development. Oversee overall management of laboratory tool, documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables. Closely collaborates with content experts to select assessment instruments. adapt existing instruments and develop new instruments and with Principal Investigator (PI) on experimental/clinical work set ups in accordance to established protocols. Responsible for team performance management and reviews
Job Description
The laboratory of Thomas Leung seeks a highly motivated Research Specialist C + Lab Manager to manage our day-to-day lab functions (including ordering), to collaborate on research projects within the laboratory, perform animal wounding models, and to maintain a 150-cage mouse colony (including breeding, generation of new mouse lines). The individual will manage a lab of 9 people.
Responsibilities
- Lab Ordering
- Mouse colony management: genotyping, breeding, crossing new lines
- Molecular biology experiments: qPCR, Western Blots, chromatin immunoprecipitation
- Managing day-to-day needs of laboratory members (training new people, making sure they follow rules, answering technical questions)
- Lab maintenance (regulatory affairs, exposure control plan, chemical inventory, animal surgery records)
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Duties
This research specialist/ lab manager position will assist other laboratory personnel to discover how tissue regeneration and wound healing works in humans. We use a combination of molecular biology techniques, ex vivo culture systems, and in vivo mouse studies. This job requires performing molecular biology, handling mice, restocking supplies, and keeping accurate records/notebooks. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience in research, clinical study, project and people management or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
